Manchester United finish runner-up in sellout final

Manchester United experienced the agony of a narrow defeat in the Women's League Cup final on Sunday, losing 2-0 to Chelsea at a packed Ashton Gate in Bristol.

In front of a competition-record crowd of 21,619, Marc Skinner's side pushed the current trophy holders in a contest that was closer than the scoreline suggests. Layla and the Red Devils therefore take home a silver medal, representing the Club’s best-ever finish in the competition.
