Layla Drury receives first call-up for England U20 WNT
Drury sets her sight at goal in her first Young Lionesses start vs. Netherlands
Layla Drury has received her first call-up into the England youth national team pathway, after switching her national affiliation from Wales.
The Manchester United forward previously represented Wales up to U17 level, scoring 4 goals in 11 appearances across both friendly and UEFA qualifiers. She was later called into a Wales U19 training camp in October 2025.
The call-up comes on the back of an exciting few months for the Manchester United attacker, who scored on her senior debut in the Women’s FA Cup, before getting her first WSL minutes a week later.
In her first camp for England, in Spain, Layla made her debut in a substitute appearance versus Spain (a 1-3 loss), before making her first start days later versus Netherlands (a 1-0 win).
The camp served as crucial preparation for a significant year ahead with the Young Lionesses, with WU19 EURO qualifying coming up in April and two major tournaments, the U19 Women’s EURO and FIFA U20 Women's World Cup to follow in the second half of the year.
Congratulations Layla, another milestone in a breakthrough year!
