Brian Sørensen named Technical Advisor at Aston Villa

Brian Sørensen joins Aston Villa after 3 years and over 100+ at Everton, Andrew Powell/Liverpool FC

Aston Villa have today appointed Brian Sørensen as their new Technical Advisor, the club announced today.

The 45-year-old Danish coach joins after a 20+ year coaching career in women’s football, predominantly in Denmark, where he won seven titles across three different Clubs, including Fortuna Hjørring and FC Nordsjælland, and reached the quarter-finals of the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

Sørensen most recently managed Everton in the Women’s Super League, where he led the team for more than 3.5 years and 100 games across four seasons. he navigated the Toffees safely through a transitional time in their history, achieving a 6th-placed and consecutive 8th-placed WSL finishes as the Merseyside club moved into the hands of new owners.

During his time with the Blues, the UEFA Pro-Licensed coach was recognised for his technical contributions behind the scenes as well as on the pitch. It is this versatility which the Villans have sought in appointing Sørensen as Technical Advisor, with the team currently sitting in 9th place in the league.

I appreciate the opportunity to join during this period and work with Marisa and Natalia, a Manager who I know well, to strengthen the technical foundation of the Club. I’m excited to get started.”
