BK Häcken finish as runners-up in Svenska Cupen final

European champions edged out by Hammarby in Swedish Cup final

BK Häcken fell just short in the Svenska Cupen final, narrowly losing to Stockholm rivals Hammarby in the domestic cup decider 0-1 in the 107th minute.

Despite the result, the reigning Damallsvenskan champions have already enjoyed a historic season, having secured the inaugural UEFA Women's Europa Cup earlier this month.

Stine Sandbech was an ever-present figure in defence throughout the cup campaign, returning from a back issue to play the full 90 minutes in the crucial group-stage win over AIK that secured Häcken's place in the knockout rounds and started in the cup semi-final against Djurgården.

From European champions to cup finalists. What a season so far for Stine and BK Häcken.
