Manchester City are WSL champions
Manchester City have been crowned Barclays Women's Super League champions for the first time in a decade, ending Chelsea's six-year grip on the title.
After years of finishing as runners-up, City finally won the title, completing a remarkable turnaround from a fourth-place finish last season to champions this year. The path to the title was built on an extraordinary unbeaten home record at the Joie Stadium, scoring 32 goals and conceding just six. Their 17-match unbeaten run in the league was also only ended by Arsenal in early February .
Diego Restrepo has been part of the coaching staff throughout the season, working with the club's goalkeepers and on set-piece delivery. He has developed multiple goalkeepers into WEURO 2025 and AFC Asian Cup champions, with Ayaka Yamashita keeping seven clean sheets in the league this season. He also drove a set-piece strategy that delivered a league-dominant 15 goals from set pieces.
Congratulations to Diego and all the players and staff and at Manchester City.
