Layla Drury named Women’s FA Cup Baller of the Round
The award was presented to Drury at the Carrington Training Centre
She’s A Baller named Manchester United’s 16-year-old Layla Drury as the Adobe Women’s FA Cup Baller of the Round after her record-breaking debut goal in the 5-1 win vs. Burnley.
Coming off the bench in the 66th minute against Burnley, Drury found the net just ten minutes later, becoming the Club's youngest-ever appearance holder and goalscorer.
Speaking to She’s A Baller, the Forward said of the honour:
“I just want to say a massive thank you for all the fans, for supporting me and voting for me. I’m really grateful that I’ve won this trophy and I’m just overall really really happy.”
Asked about how the next generation can learn from her experience as they follow their dreams, she added:
“I’d say just be confident and believe in yourself. Work hard, day in day out and you can do anything if you believe in yourself.”
The award puts a cool and well-deserved exclamation point on a history-making performance. Congratulations, Layla!
