Jackie joins Burnley F.C.

Burnley F.C. has today announced the signing of Northern Ireland international goalkeeper Jackie Burns following the club's historic promotion to Women's Super League 2 on a two-year contract.

Burns arrives following spells with Bristol City and Calgary Wild, bringing experience from both club and international football. The Northern Ireland international has earned 64 caps for her country and represented Northern Ireland at UEFA Women's Euro 2022 and previously played in the WSL(1) with Reading.

Jackie joins a Burnley side that secured promotion to Women's Super League 2 after being crowned FA Women's National League Northern Premier Division champions, finishing the season unbeaten with 20 wins from 22 league matches

As the Clarets prepare for their first season in WSL2, Burns will add valuable experience and quality as the club looks to make its mark in the division.

On joining Burnley Jackie shared:

“It feels really good to be here. It’s nice to finally get it over the line and be here with the girls, and I’m really looking forward to the new season.

I had a chat with the staff and the manager, and everything that they said aligns with what I want to do moving forwards. The more we talked, it felt like the right time to come to Burnley and push on with them in the Championship.”

Congratulations, Jackie!
