BK Häcken seal Damallsvenskan for first time
Congratulations to Stine Sandbech and BK Häcken on winning the 2025 Damallsvenskan title, the Club's first title under the Häcken name.
Their predecessors, Kopparbergs/Göteborg FC, last won the Gold in 2020, with Häcken achieving four consecutive runners-up finishes since.
Secured with a 2-0 victory away at Djurgården on 8 November, Häcken finished top with 58 points, boasting both the league's best attack (83 goals) and best defence (17 conceded).
For Sandbech, this title marks an extraordinary personal triumph. The 30-year-old Danish international made a remarkable mid-season transition to centre back after returning from a near two-year absence due to injury and pregnancy. Head coach Mak Lind revealed this tactical switch was his "crazy idea," spotting the physical attributes his defence needed. Her form earned her a recall to the Danish national team.
Reflecting on the achievement, Sandbech shared:
"I get moved when I think about what I've been through. I was away for a long time and thought I might have played my last match. Now I'm standing here with Swedish Championship gold and have made a comeback in the national team. Anything is possible"
What a comeback. Congratulations, Stine!
